i would like to sign up for electric guitar lessons at a music school somewhere in singapore but i can’t find a music school that has electric guitar lessons. Most of it only has acoustic guitar lessons. Is there any music school out there in singapore that have electric guitar lessons?

Everywhere I look seems to be a random tip on playing. Is there some source that offers many lessons in order of skill level? Like to where I don’t miss any knowledge other than practicing? I’m looking for free also, if that’s possible. :/

Also, how would classical guitar be for beginners? I’m looking to play soft music from Final Fantasy, Zelda, etc. So electric doesn’t sound right although I heard the size of the neck is good for beginners.

Try cyberfret.com. Practice some of their beginner guitar lessons, chords, etc., every day for an hour or two, until you feel comfortable and confident enough with your chords and finger placements. Listen to tones and learn to recognize chords by their sound, then practice with songs you hear and like. The key is practice, practice, practice. By learning proper ways and tones of chords, and then moving towards simple songs you like, you will be able to recognize your own style more and get a feel of (1) the proper way to play chords and (2) your own methods of playing. Once you get a handle on this, seek out others to jam with, because that will keep you motivated to play more, and will allow you to learn from others as well.

I don’t really want to be overcharged because I am a student and I’m just looking out to try something new.

That’s way too expensive. When I first started playing, it paid like $15 or $20 per 1 hour lesson.

there are none that are good enough to do more than help out as an addition to quality instruction.

And most will in fact only teach you bad habits.

Often, guitar teachers set their own price.

If you go to an independent guitar teacher, you’ll end up paying a lot less than you would at a store like Guitar Center (because the store takes a cut).

I’d start by Googling "guitar lessons" plus your city, like "Guitar lessons San Diego", and see if you can find a directory.

A pretty common rate is $25 a lesson or $100 a month, but you can probably find better.
